Overview

Storyful is a B2C company that helps journalists, broadcasters and publishers verify and acquire breaking news, trending stories and local sources from the noise of social media.

The problem

I was asked to make our customer's workflow easier by providing reliable and relevant content alerts to help them get the content they need asap.

The Problem

"Currently, making sure that the alerts are going out to the right customers is difficult. The lists are manually managed by marketing/sales and there is no way of accessing the lists to ensure all user preference requests were processed correctly."

Outcomes

What did we achieve at the end of this project?

One of the key outcomes of my work was the establishment of a robust process for both qualitative and quantitative research. Recognizing the importance of gathering valuable insights from multiple perspectives, I implemented a systematic approach that encompassed various research methodologies

This was a blue sky project that hasn’t been implemented into the product yet.

Monitor the engagement of clients, open rates and click rate of communications

Using centralised data collection and management to ensure clients receive timely notifications about new content that is relevant for business needs and that Storyful accurately captures the value being delivered to clients.

The Challenge

Customers, journalists, and newsrooms have very busy schedules day to day, requiring them to navigate in and out of a platform to browse for specific content amidst their other work tasks, emphasizing the need for specific emails tailored to their content preferences and the ability to exercise control over received notifications.

Notification Model

As part of my research, I took the initiative to map the current touchpoints of our notifications across the platform. This involved carefully identifying and documenting the different points where notifications were delivered to our users. By visualizing the notification journey, I gained valuable insights into our existing system and uncovered potential areas for optimization and enhancement.
